I need to charge a battery powered video doorbell from a solar panel that outputs 5 volts DC or more. The doorbell has screw terminals labeled 8 to 24 volts AC only.
I'd like to find something that will fit into the plastic mounting base of the doorbell. A Pololu U3V40x in 9 or 12 volt output is smaller than a quarter and has a DC input range the solar panel's output fits nicely into. It also is way over-spec on amperage rating for this application. Even better it only costs $10.
But it still outputs DC.
Is there an equally tiny DC to AC converter or inverter that just converts whatever the DC input is to the same voltage AC output?
Or better yet, an all in one device that takes DC Voltage<4 to >5 and outputs AC Voltage anywhere between 8 and 12 volts, that's around 2x the size of the U3V40x?
