Terry had asked about obtaining the proceedings from the
11th International Symposium on the Science & Technology of
Light Sources (LS:11) to be held in Shanghai 20 May through
24 May. Here is an update on the symposium.
The symposium web site is http://www.ls-symposium.org/. You
can find a list of papers to be presented at LS:11 but this
list does not, unfortunately, include abstracts.
The informal committee that has organized the LS symposia
since 1975 has decided to form a more structured
organization. The Foundation for the Advancement of the
Science & Technology of Light Sources (FAST-LS) has been
formed in the UK as a non-profit entity. More information
about FAST-LS, which is relative new, can be found at
http://www.fast-ls.org/.
Now, about the proceedings.
Copies of the proceedings of prior LS:X symposia have been
transferred to CD-ROM and are available from the FAST-LS
secretary, Georges Zissis. His e-mail address is
[email protected]-tlse.fr (He gave me specific
permission to post his address here as he is convinced the
SPAM filter at his university will deal with any SPAM.) The
Proceedings from LS:1 through LS:8 were scanned from the
printed version. They are very useful, but cannot be
searched. Starting with LS:9 papers were submitted as
electronic documents and the CD-ROM contains individual
PDFs.
Copies of the LS:11 proceedings will be available on CD-ROM
at the conference and after, also from Georges Zissis. I'm
not sure if he will be able to provide copies of the LS:11
proceedings before the end of the conference.
